The list includes my best guesses on what will be in those gaps, based on various previews, the previous Apoc books, and the current range of FW superheavies. That list works out to 107 entries known or suspected entries with page numbers, out of a supposed 112 total. Not including the Battlezone Armageddon Formations which are separate. Question mark after the page number means it is known to be included, but not confirmed to be that page.”ġ58 Void Dragon Phoenix? FW website blub says they frequently work with dark eldar.ġ85 Tigershark AX-1-0 Mentioned in the Air Superiority Wing Question mark after the name means it is a guess whether it is included. I’m hoping GW gets it in gear and cranks out a few dozen more formations for the folks who bought them last time.Tinkrr wrote: Actually, I really like the every other turn concept, it's a good way to make them produce a lot of free points, while still being reasonable, and it encourages Seeker missiles. ![]() More importantly, it rewards good play so much more than just doing it each turn where it's "Oh, I'll like vomit drones out and put them in reserves because whatever." since it gives you a turn of trying to move and shoot strategically enough to get within 6" of a table edge while still gaining from your movement. Piranhas are pretty fast, being able to deploy drones properly adds a massive skill level that's not make or break, when using this formation, which is always good. That's really what you want in a game, where something like this can offer a 1-3% advantage if played absolutely optimally, so that it can be fun for weaker players and rewarding for top end players, without creating a massive disparity between the two. The way you describe playing the formation and wanting every other turn is already how it works. Since you leave at the end of movement, if you want to shoot that turn you can't leave.so metal cases, into which they wind themselves when a button is pressed, or into which. bomb/missile skids for mounting the TAU units is not authorized.). That is if you decide to shoot, which I'd be doing with a limited number of Piranhas armed with Seekers, but if you decide to forgo shooting right now it's just: If you want a drone engine, then you have that option. Thanks very much to Val for sharing these photos with me and allowing me to feature them here on ObSec!ħ4 days to go.That seems a little too powerful really :/. If you ever get the chance to see this army in person (Val is in Canada so it might be hard for some of our readers!) go and say hi! What makes this army even more awesome to face is the player – we had an awesome and hard fought game round 1 and I could not help but smile throughout the gruelling 3 hour game!Ī special shout out to Adam Truax at Battle Brothers Painting Studio for his awesome work on this commission army One last shot to round out the showcase – an action shot from LVO against a super friends space marine death star! Piranha’s! The Firestream wing is one I have had to deal with in past games and this one did not buck that trend! Val has done a great job on the whole formation and made sure to even have enough drones for the whole formation for 4 full reloads!Īn in game shot and a more formal display shot here – as you can see the army has a huge board presence despite the low (relatively speaking) model count. Used as a standard Riptide on the weekend (with Earthcaste Pilot and a Burst Cannon) this model really stands out from the trio in the wing. ![]() This converted (and magnetised!) Forgeworld Riptide looks awesome – and the photo just might not do it enough justice. The dreaded Tau Riptide Wing! Ion cannons and Smart Missiles are the order of the day in this staple of Tau (and non-tau!) tournament list. Joining a broadside team complete with missile drones and target locks – this unit is the terror it has been since we first got the signature systems! Here we have Val’s Crisis commander – the obligatory ‘Buffmander’ with all the fruits of Tau technology. Its safe to say that LVO2017 had a lot of great armies, and the following Tau army is one of them! I was fortunate to play Val in round 1 on day 1 – and what a battle it was! I will save that commentary for the video and summary posts – this post is all about the army itself! Lets get stuck straight in!
